Signs and symptoms of Influenza A H1N1

The incubation period for Influenza A (H1N1) is usually short from 1 to 3 days but may range from 2 to 7 days. The symptoms in humans are similar to the symptoms of seasonal influenza in humans and may include: fever (greater than 38°C), sore throat, cough congested nose, chills, fatigue, headache and body aches.

Some people have reported diarrhea and vomiting associated with Influenza A (H1N1). Severe illness (pneumonia and respiratory failure) and deaths have been reported with Influenza A (H1N1).

Symptoms:

* High fever  (> 38°C)
* Cough or sore throat 
* Body aches 
* Headache, chills and fatigue 
* In some cases, vomiting and diarrhoea

Complications of the disease include pneumonia and difficulty in breathing.
