Looking back on our work in 2019, we made great steps in accelerating the promise of Cairo to improve sexual and reproductive health and rights in Rwanda. The journey enabled us to celebrate Rwanda's incredible progress over the last 25 years and also shed light on the unfinished business of reaching the last mile.
Numerous achievements have been recorded towards ending unmet need for family planning, ending maternal deaths, engaging women and young people, leaving no one behind and ending sexual transmission of HIV. Together we recommitted to finishing the unfinished promise of Cairo, ensuring and protecting the rights and choices for all, an agenda that by 2030 gets us to zero unmet need for family planning, zero preventable maternal deaths, zero gender-based violence and harmful practices, and zero sexual transmission of HIV.
