Back in 2008, UNFPA launched the Maternal Health Thematic Fund to jumpstart safe motherhood programmes in some of the world's least developed countries. To date, the Fund has invested over $100 million in maternal health programmes across 49 countries.

I thank and appreciate the Fund’s partnerships with governments, donors, and other United Nations agencies. Let’s continue our efforts to leave no one behind and safeguard the health of every woman and every child!
